Held in the campus bookstore, activist and sports writers Michael Eric Dyson, Bill Rhoden, and Etan Thomas discussed Jay-Z, Colin Kaepernick, Athlete Activism, and the NCAA. They not only scraped the surface of athlete activism, but dug down into it and utilized their vast array of knowledge on the subject to dissect it. This was one of my favorite events to go to because i'm very passionate about sports and athlete activism.

At this event Vann Newark II, a journalist from the Atlantic, talked about the rise and downfall of black farming in American history. He also drew its connections too gentrification that is happening in many black communities today. Finally he stressed people to tell others about this and to possibly invest in modern farming themselves. I saw the importance in this event in that its a part of black history that not many know about

the great land robbery.
