racist?
In “The Color of an Awkward Conversation,” by Chimamanda Adichie, she discusses her encounters with ignorance and racism as an African woman and where she believes the word “racist” is applicable. In this piece I wrote a commentary on her excerpt along with my own perspective on the matter. I feel like this assignment really helped me distinguish and articulate different ideas concerning racism and its connections to daily life.

In Carmen Kynard’s, Stank 2.0 and the Counter-Poetics of Black Language in College Classrooms, Kynard stresses the saying “Put some stank on it” telling students to take risks and not be afraid to write outside of the box, emphasizing the inclusion of culture. We were then directed to choose a figure that displays this and I felt Kendrick Lamar was the best candidate. I really enjoyed this essay because I felt it was the most unique in what I was able to talk about.
kung fu kenny.
In this critical response I compare, Martin Luther King’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail” and Malcolm X’s Autobiography. I analyze the similarities and differences between each leaders core values and goals of their platform. I felt that explaining the two perspectives was very important because it has often split the black community in how to achieve racial justice.
